Senior Financial Analyst – Spares Profitability and Performance

Bell has an immediate opening at our Fort Worth, TX headquarters for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst whose responsibility primarily includes spare part profitability and performance, finished good inventory analysis, and managing the surplus and obsolescence and warranty reserves. In addition, this position will be responsible for supporting the business with Inventory reductions, Business Reviews, and assist with identifying operational metrics.
This position also applies appropriate GAAP and accounting techniques to assigned projects, provides analysis, and investigates variances.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for monthly Spares profitability analysis and communicating explanations for margin variances and fluctuations to upper management
- Manage part profitability data in Power BI, adding in depth analysis on profitability bands to existing processes
- Work with Integrated Operations/Finance to bring visibility to cost overruns on make and buy parts to drive better part performance
- Assist the business with the Spares Strategic Business Review
- Ensure proper accounting for Spares for revenue and cost. Assist the Sales Order admin team, when necessary, as the main Finance POC.
- Calculate and analyze the quarterly finished goods surplus and obsolescence (S&O) reserve and provision for slow moving inventory monthly
- Monitor and understand warranty expense by model and provision for cost monthly
- Conducting month-end close duties including the processing of journal entries, and reconciliation of reserve accounts
- Monitoring internal processes and controls (SOX) to ensure compliance with departmental, Bell and Textron guidelines and procedures. Serve as the main POC for Ernst & Young (E&Y) and Textron Audit Services (TAS)
- Partner with business to achieve inventory reduction initiatives and help determine metrics to track progress
- Assist business with special buys, flash sales, and movement of inventory to GPS inventory solutions
- Work with IT, the business, and co-workers on converting QlikView dashboards into Power BI for Spares Sales, Backlog, Orders, etc.
- Supporting ad hoc Spares requests and leading other team members as needed
- Provide assessment of procedures with the goal of identifying potential process improvements and refining current processes to achieve efficiencies, eliminate redundancies & document processes as required
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field of study
Position Requirements:
- At least 5 years of Financial Analysis experience
- A strong understanding of accounting systems using GAAP in a corporate environment
- High Level Proficiency with Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
- Good organizational skills, ability to work concurrently on multiple and varied projects, seeking process improvements, driving efficiencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, critical thinking skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to utilize good common sense
- Strong leadership abilities, mentors’ others, directs workflows of others
- Ability to effectively interface with both internal and external customers
- Team Player and self-starter capable of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Must be able to take initiative to proactively seek out solutions to business issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Knowledge of Power BI, (SQL preferred)
- Master’s degree
